AT&T Ranks #1 In Seattle, WA

A newly released report shows AT&T* wireless customers in Seattle are enjoying the highest ranked local network. An independent mobile research and testing organization today gave AT&T’s overall wireless network top honors. Bellevue-based RootMetrics® ranked AT&T highest for combined/overall voice, data and text network performance in Seattle.

AT&T, operator of the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network

The RootMetrics® wireless network performance study for Seattle named AT&T as the overall RootMetrics RootScore® Award winner for its combination of call, text and mobile Internet performance. The RootMetrics award is based on analysis of more than 49,953 wireless test calls, texts and data transmissions conducted during September, 2013. AT&T tied for first in the previous RootMetrics study in Seattle.

“AT&T was ranked highest in our September, 2013 tests of overall network performance in the Seattle area. Our overall3814_81031488908_5765285_n RootScore Award looks at call, data and text performance across all data network technologies, including 4G LTE. We look at performance from a consumer’s point of view, and AT&T offered a very strong overall performance for those in Seattle during our tests,” said Bill Moore, president and CEO of RootMetrics.

In the first half of 2013, AT&T invested nearly $250 million in its wireless and wired network in Washington. The 2013 year-to-date network investment builds on the more than $1.8 billion that AT&T has invested in its Washington wireless and wireline networks from 2010 through 2012. These investments help to ensure that Washington residents continue to receive the best possible Internet experience over the AT&T network.

AT&T launched 4G LTE** in Seattle in September, 2012. It plans to expand its 4G LTE network to cover 300 million people nationwide by year-end 2014. Even as 4G LTE expands, customers can get 4G speeds outside of 4G LTE areas with our 4G HSPA+ technology.
