I’ve been to a lot of shows at the Paramount but now seeing Dirty Dancing there I can officially say I have a favorite. Dirty Dancing was amazing. Brought me to tears at some points of the show just by playing the songs. I’ve also never heard the crowd so energetic with the show. Screaming and clapping throughout the performance. Im sure it helps that its one of a kind, true favorite movie and we all know it. We all love it. This just tops it off by replaying it live. No… doesn’t have the original characters in it of course but part way in you don’t even notice because they are so good. Brings me back to my past and watching the movie a billion times… the memories.
The set was done perfectly. Each scene looked just like the movie. Outfits looked original. Words were right on! It was like watching the movie. Weird but in a very good way. My heart was going pitter patter throughout the whole show. I didn’t want it to end. Thats how good it was.
Now you can see it live. Feel that passion and real life feel of being there. It’s pretty magical. I recommend this show to everyone. Bring some tissue cause you might need it(even from the very beginning). Sit back and watch your favorite movie of all times right in front of you… pretty amazing!
It’s the summer of 1963, and 17 year- old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is about to learn some major lessons in life as well as a thing or two about dancing.
On vacation in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents, Baby shows little interest in the resort activities, and instead discovers her own entertainment when she stumbles upon the staff quarters when an all-night dance party is in full swing. Mesmerized by the raunchy dance moves and the pounding rhythms, Baby can’t wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle the resort dance instructor.
Baby’s life is about to change forever as she is thrown in at the deep end as Johnny’s leading lady both on-stage and off with breathtaking consequences.
